About Faber Finds
There can be little more disheartening for an avid reader than to discover that a favourite book has gone out of print, or a much-admired author's work has become completely unavailable. Faber Finds is a groundbreaking new imprint whose aim is to restore to print for future generations a wealth of lost classics.
Faber Finds launches with over 100 titles with an initial list containing some striking names: Jacob Bronowski, one of the greatest polymaths of the twentieth century, the centenary of whose birth is being celebrated this year; Adrian Bell, writer of the classic account of an Englishman's conversion to rural life; F. R. Leavis, the most impressive literary critic of the last century; P. H. Newby, winner of the very first Booker Prize; A. J. P. Taylor, without doubt the most stimulating historian of the twentieth century; and many more - the likes of Peter Anson, Imogen Holst, Richard Cobb, R. C. Hutchinson, George Ewart Evans, John Cowper Powys and A. S. J. Tessimond.
The launch list has been assembled by Faber's editors and authors - writers such as Wendy Cope, Jan Morris, Andrew Motion and Brian Friel have already chosen books they'd love to see published again - but we'll be widening the net to include recommendations from other authors as well as you, the readers. Through Lost & Found we ask you to let us know what you'd like to see back in print.
Faber Finds will grow and embrace fiction, thrillers, sci-fi, memoirs, biographies, history, poetry, travel books, popular science and books for younger readers. Printed on demand, the text of each title will be beautifully re-set, printed on high-quality paper, and bound with a unique jacket design.
You'll be able to buy every Faber Finds book through all leading online retailers and, from June 2008, the new Faber website.
