Free Prize Draw
P. H. Newby CBE (1918-1997) will always be known as the winner of the inaugural Booker Prize in 1969. The author of 18 works of fiction and four works of non-fiction, he also enjoyed a distinguished career in broadcasting administration, earning a CBE for his work as Managing Director of BBC Radio.
Now, under the Faber Finds imprint, five of P. H. Newby's novels are available once again:
- A Journey to the Interior (winner of the Somerset Maugham Award, 1948)
- A Season in England (1951)
- The Barbary Light (1962)
- Something to Answer For (1968)
- Kith (1977)

- Closing date for entries is Friday 30th May.
- No purchase is necessary to enter the Prize Draw.
- Entry to the Prize Draw is by email only. Faber and Faber accepts no responsibility for incomplete or invalid entries.
- The winning five entries will be drawn at random. Winners will be alerted within 4 weeks of the closing date.
- A list of the winners will be available from webmaster@faber.co.uk after this date.
- The prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or alternative Faber books.
- The Prize Draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 or over, excluding employees of Faber and Faber and anyone connected to the development of 'Faber Finds'.
- Data submitted by entrants will only be used for the purpose of this Prize Draw.
- By entering this Prize Draw each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
